Note
Details from National Archives Repository, Pretoria, South Africa. Held under ref- MHG 4624/59 Address at death - 9 Lille Road, Delville, Germiston, South Africa I was pondering why Alfred had the name Peters. I knew it was his grandmothers name - and his male uncles mostly took the name Peters as a middle name - but why Alfred? Well, Ruth Stribley (nee Peters) died early 1900 (buried March 1900) - so I assume this was a tribute to Lavinias mother.

Note
Also had a smithy at Colan, near Newquay.
Note
Despite what it states on the Dairyland website in their Education section, the blacksmith at Gummows Shop (i.e A.P Jose) did not die in 1938. His wife, May, did die in 1938 and Alfred moved to St Stephen near Saltash after. I have contacted Dairyland in the past regarding this inaccuracy, but the website remains unchanged... Ah well - not really relevant to them I suppose - they are correct that they ended up with the smithy etc.
