Occupation
Listed as a miner at marriage of John Trenerry, his son.
Note
Info on this section mainly from the 1891 Census for Perranzabuloe, along with the will of Richard Trenerry. Note that Richard lived and farmed at Rose, and married a lady from the village. Note that I am unable to prove that William and Fanny are indeed the parents of my John. If I can prove that John remarried in the USA to katie Penrose, then I can link them in properly. Per IGI info, father of John at his marriage is noted as William, so it seems likely. Feb 2006. Reviewing this, I think things are uncertain. IGI lists marriage of John to Mary George - which I am aware of. No mention of parents though! If Joseph is the correct person - from 1861 census, giving his fathers name 79,Hendra,1,Joseph Trenerry,Head,M,31,,Blende Miner,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Emily Trenerry,Wife,M,,31,,Truro Cornwall,, ,,,William Trenerry,Son,,9,,,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,John Francis Trenerry,Son,,4,,,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Samuel Trenerry,Son,,1,,,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,James Trenerry,Father,W,57,,Ag Lab,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, 1871 census - 134,Goonhavern,1,Joseph Trenerry,Head,M,41,,Ag Lab,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Emily Trenerry,Wife,M,,40,,Truro Cornwall,, ,,,William H Trenerry,Son,U,18,,Ag Lab,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,John F Trenerry,Son,,14,,Ag Lab,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Samuel Trenerry,,,13,,Ag Lab,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Elizabeth A Trenerry,Dau,,,6,Scholar,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Joseph Trenerry,Son,,4,,Scholar,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,Emily A Trenerry,Dau,,,1,,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, ,,,James Trenerry,Father,W,70,,Ag Lab,Perranzabuloe Cornwall,, Most odd is the 1881census! Searching Cornwall, gives no results for various Joseph and family searches. However, searching Durham!, gives - Joseph Emily Elizabeth A Joseph (son) Emily H and a boarder - Thomas Hooper. Joseph is listed as a coal miner, living at Front Street, North Bedburn, Durham. As is his 16 year old son, Joseph. And the widowed Mr Hooper.

Key points - Firstly, Johns father is William (source is the marriage cert I hold) Secondly, Williams children include Lavinia and Nanny as well as Richard and John. Those names are clearly indicated in the will of Richard Trenerry.
Note
Note that Philip Trenerry married Charlotte Coombe of Hendra Croft 26 April 1896 Fathers - William Trenerry (miner) and Edward Coombe (carpenter)
Note
Review of will of Richard may help. Coupled with (assumed family info) from Kathy Trenery re emigration of some family members. Listed on will (direct family)- Lavinia (sister) Nanny (sister) Nephew William John Nephew Thomas James. Ok, so William John and Thomas James are sons of John Trenerry, brother of Richard. According to my records, John and Mary had 3 girls also. They are not mentioned. Why? 2 possible reasons - first, that Richard only listed male family. This is not correct - he lists his sisters and females from his wifes side. Second reason - and much more likely - John was not the father of the 3 girls. This seems to be backed up by census information. By the 1891 census, John was gone - Mary was living with her mother. The 3 girls were born after Thomas and William - indicating that perhaps John was gone between 1884 or so and 1889. Kathy Trenery does not state when John arrived in the US, but that in the 1890's he was working in the USA. richard may have felt that these 3 girls were not Trenerrys - certainly not his direct relations. Why then does Richard not list his other brothers? I believe the list to be - William H born 1860 Thomas J born 1862 John born 1864 Richard born 1866 Philip born 1869 Walter born 1872 Albert born 1877 Richard obviously we know. John - well, he is suspected of emigration to the USA, so I expect Richard decided against trying to leave money to him there. Thomas emigrated to the US according to Kathy, as did William H and Philip. Walter and Albert however, are not mentioned. Possible they passed away? Or emigrated later without keeping in touch with John? FreeBMD - Deaths Sept qtr 1894 St Columb 5c 57 Albert Trenerry Likely to be the correct person. Leaving Walter only.
