Note
Interesting to note that in 1873, the farmer at Resparva was a Hugh Peters according to Kellys directory. Relation to Ruth Peters? He was there in 1871 too - 87,Resparva,1,Hugh Peters,Head,M,40,,Farmer 158 Acres Emp 1 Boy,St Stephens Cornwall,, ,,,Johanna Peters,Wife,M,,37,Wife,St Agnes Cornwall,, ,,,Mary Ann Peters,Dau,,,8,Farmers Daur,St Enoder Cornwall,, ,,,Selina Peters,Dau,,,6,Farmers Daur Scholar,St Enoder Cornwall,, ,,,Johanna Peters,Dau,,,4,Farmers Daur Scholar,St Enoder Cornwall,, ,,,John Peters,Son,,2,,,St Enoder Cornwall,, ,,,Eliza Peters,Dau,,,6m,,St Enoder Cornwall,, ,,,Catherine May,Servnt,U,,16,Domestic Serv,St Enoder Cornwall,, ,,,John Skinner,Servnt,U,23,,Domestic Serv Indoor,St Enoder Cornwall,,
Note
There seems to be some discrepancy regarding the occupation of John. In the baptisms of various children, his occupation is "miner", yet in the various census' he is a farmer.... I suspect the "farmer" is more correctly a "smallholder" who also mined. Will see what I can dig up. Actually, in the earlier census entries he is an Ag Lab - so quite probably also mining to supplement income
Note
The National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations) has details for John's estate.
