| Note | Following information from Donna, it looks as though James married a Nanny/Ann Trenerry. There is a record on the IGI for a christening -
21 october 1804, parents William and Mary.
The names tie in with the info from Donna.
Following this up, a lookup on the IGI for marriages of William Trenerry and a Mary gives -
9 june 1804 Perranzabuloe William Trenerry and Mary Taper. Note this is a "submitted" record.
The record is confirmed by the Phillimores registers as correct. Mary Taper is listed as being from Newlyn (East) in the marriage records.
Also found -
21 November 1801 Newlyn East. William T and Mary James.
This is an extracted record.
The marriage of William and Mary James is confirmed by the Phillimores marriages lists.
|
| Note | Looking a little further into the parents of Ann.
As I mentioned, there were two William and Mary marriages at the right sort of time - one for Mary Taper, the other for Mary James.
The William Trenerry and Mary james marriage I have found mentioned by Neil Trenerry on his website.
William and Marys children were Grace, Thomas, William, John, Philip and Joseph.
So it would seem that William and mary James is not the right family. |
| Note | ANother possible baptism which looks like the same family as James -
John Trenerry
26 September 1802, Newlyn East
Parents William and Mary
|
| Note | William and Mary marriages which may be useful -
William Trenerry and Mary James, Newlyn in Pydar, 21 Nov 1801
William Trenerry and Mary Taper, Perranzabuloe, 9 June 1804
William Trenery and Mary Trenery, St Hilary, 28 October 1804 (note - lists Wm as living in Redruth, so less likely).

| Note | Donna has info from professional research which suggests that James was the illegitimate son of an Elizabeth ROBERTS from Hayle area. *Actually Elizabeth from St Allen!*
Sue (on B-G), came up with an interesting piece regarding a James Trenerry (perhaps the father?) who was an innkeeper at Phillack and married a Catherine ROBERTS. Wonder if this is a connection?
James TRENERRY, b. 1777 Redruth d. 1819 - Royal Standard 1805-1819. His widow Catherine (nee ROBERTS) re-married, to Francis MILLWOOD in 1822 who continued until 1829.
Info from http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~phillack/innkeepers.htm
*This James is connected to Anns family, but not a relative of the James who married Ann.* |
| Note | I had a look through the Hayle and Phillack baptisms but no trace of any James Trenerry there :( |
| Note | Banns called in Perranzabuloe Parish on 10th, 17th and 24th December, 1826.
Copy available. |
| Note | No sign of a headstone in Perranzabuloe churchyard for James. Found his son William etc, but not James.
|
| Note | I was transcribing Banns for Perranzabuloe when I came across Banns for a William Trenerry of Hendra hoping to marry a Mary TAPER. The third call of the Banns was interrupted by .... Elizabeth ROBERTS!!!
Seems this is the William who was the father of her child - our James. |
