Marriage
There was a"scandal" within the family, which blocked discussion about the family. I suspect that this marriage - taking place when two children were already around - is it. I guess they married to ensure their census entry wasnt seen as a crime!

1881 census info - George EASOM Head M Male 34 Old Basford, Nottingham, England Coal Miner Eliza EASOM Wife M Female 31 Culham, Oxford, England William EASOM Son Male 5 Normanton, Derby, England Scholar George EASOM Son Male 2 Castleford, York, England Source Information: Dwelling Belton St Census Place Normanton, York, England Family History Library Film 1342107 Public Records Office Reference RG11 Piece / Folio 4588 / 28 Page Number 14
Note
Per 1871 census, the most likely George Easom is - George Easom aged 20 from Nottingham,Old Basford. Listed as Soldier,Grenadier Guards St James,London
Note
Bearing in mind that there is allegedly some sort of "scandal" in this family (discussion of ancestors was frowned upon), the search for George Easom marriages is interesting. Now, it could be that FreeBMD fails to list all the marriages as yet, but only one George Easom to an Eliza or Elizabeth occurs in the lists when doing a general search - Dec qtr 1881 Pontefract 9c 188 George Easom Eliza Rimes Pontefract is Yorkshire. Only 5 miles from Normanton where the Easoms were living Interesting.....
Note
Per IGI, there is an Eliza RHYMES christened 3rd February 1850 in Culham, Oxfordshire. Parents Robert RHYMES and Jane.
Note
Slight aside here, but in 1881, there was a Rimes family in London - William RIMES Head M Male 37 Culham, Oxford, England French Polisher Sarah A. RIMES Wife M Female 37 Essex, England Charlotte J. RIMES Daur Female 7 Kensington, Middlesex, England Thersea A. RIMES Daur Female 6 Kensington, Middlesex, England Percy W. RIMES Son Male 4 Kensington, Middlesex, England Alice E. Maybe she was also in London in 1871 - where she would perhaps have met George Easom who was serving in the Grenadier Guards??
